Tainan, May 26 (CNA) - A man surnamed Huang, who collected defense intelligence for China in exchange for NT$5,000, was sentenced to seven years in prison by the Tainan Branch of the Taiwan High Court during a retrial today. The initial trial had resulted in an acquittal, but the case was remanded after an appeal by the prosecutor. According to the court, Huang attempted to recruit former military colleagues to collect and deliver classified defense documents. The NT$5,000 in criminal proceeds will be confiscated. The case remains subject to appeal.
