Central News Agency, Yilan, May 26. The Su'ao 'Water Splashing Festival' in Yilan will kick off on July 11. On the day of the event, the public pools at the Cold Spring Park will be free all day. The town office invites visitors to bring water guns and gather in front of the Su'ao train station for a street water fight, with a chance to win one tael of gold. Su'ao Mayor Li Mingzhe stated at a press conference today that the Su'ao cold springs are a top choice for summer cooling. Following the festival, an 'Ocean Carnival' will be held in August, and a 'Folk Music Feast' in September. The festival starts at 3:00 PM on July 11, with a 600-meter stretch of Zhongshan Road Section 1 closed for the water fight. Additionally, from June 18 to September 10, shoppers who spend over NT$100 at three participating businesses can collect stamps for a chance to win prizes including one tael of gold, iPads, AirPods, and hotel vouchers.
