Lienchiang County Local Election Nominations: KMT to Conduct Qualification Review, DPP Still Deliberating

In preparation for the local elections, the KMT Lienchiang County branch has initiated the nomination process for county councilors and township mayors, with qualification reviews expected to take place this week. Due to the small number of voters, which makes it difficult to obtain a sufficient sample size for telephone polling, no primaries will be held. The KMT Lienchiang County branch stated that many incumbent councilors are seeking re-election. Speaker Chang Yung-chiang did not pick up the nomination forms and declined to comment. Regarding township mayors, most incumbents are seeking re-election, except for the mayor of Dongyin Township. Meanwhile, Li Che-yu, head of the DPP Lienchiang County branch, stated that the nomination list is still under deliberation and will be announced at an appropriate time.
