Seoul, May 26 (CNA) - South Korean President Lee Jae-myung attended the first 'Future Defense Strategy Committee' today, where the Ministry of National Defense unveiled the 'Jang Bogo-N' project. The goal is to launch the first nuclear-powered submarine by the mid-2030s. The Blue House stated that the plan follows US support obtained last October. President Lee emphasized that the submarine symbolizes the nation's will to ensure peace on the Korean Peninsula. The Ministry pledged to use low-enriched uranium and strictly adhere to non-proliferation obligations.
