On Friday, May 29, 2026, COMMON Inc. held "Commons Connect Shizuoka" at the Special Conference Room of the Shizuoka Prefectural Industrial Economic Hall.

This event is a public-private partnership exchange program where local governments, companies, local operators, and supporters meet to create opportunities for concrete collaboration and commercialization based on regional issues and resources.

This session was held in conjunction with the "Japan Material Koshien Shizuoka Tournament," organized by the Future Town Planning Organization (where COMMON Inc. serves as the secretariat) and held the following day at Sumpu Castle Park, Shizuoka City. The event focused on regional products, hometown taxes (Furusato Nozei), crowdfunding, regional projects, and inter-municipal collaboration.

Fuji City and Matsukawa Town participated and shared their regional initiatives and themes for future collaboration with companies and organizations. Attendees included representatives from local governments, regional businesses, crowdfunding experts, regional promotion, education, finance, real estate, childcare support, Web media, and regional revitalization, totaling participants from 20 companies and 2 municipalities.

Purpose of Commons Connect Commons Connect aims to be an exchange meeting where government, companies, local operators, and citizens connect on a flat basis to discuss regional and social issues, developing them into actionable projects. The goal is to move beyond mere business card exchange, connecting regional issues and resources with corporate services, technology, planning power, outreach, sales channels, fundraising, and promotion to achieve concrete cooperation and commercialization.

Lecture | Regional Revitalization through Crowdfunding In the first part, Mr. Tomoyuki Kawabe, Representative Director of Percival Inc., gave a lecture on "Regional Revitalization through Crowdfunding." He explained that crowdfunding is not just a fundraising tool but a mechanism to visualize local ideas and challenges, increase supporters, and open up regional projects to the outside world. He highlighted how to connect resources and ideas latent in the region to empathy and funds to create sustainable projects. Examples such as utilizing CAMPFIRE and the crowdfunding PR initiatives by Daimaru Matsuzakaya Department Stores were shared.

Talk Session | How to Shape Regional Challenges through Public-Private Partnerships In the second part, Mr. Takugen Fukumoto of Nihon no Chikara Co., Ltd., which provided special cooperation, presented on "How to Shape Regional Challenges through Public-Private Partnerships." He shared practical perspectives on how companies and local governments can work together to form regional projects.

Municipal PR Time Fuji City introduced its regional resources, industries, and possibilities for future corporate collaboration. Matsukawa Town also shared its initiatives and cooperation themes.
