Veterinary Dermatologists and Animal Behavior Experts Advocate - The Future of Dermatology Treatment

The Japan Animal CBD Association (Academic Advisor: Chie Mogi, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) will hold a free seminar, "Dermatology x Behavior x CBD," on Monday, June 15, 2026, in Asakusabashi, Taito-ku, Tokyo, focusing on the relationship between skin diseases and behavior/stress.

This seminar quickly reached full capacity after registration opened, and it has now been decided that it will be simultaneously broadcast live on Instagram and Zoom.

An Increasing Number of Dogs Whose "Itching" Cannot Be Explained Solely by Skin Issues

In chronic skin diseases in dogs, symptoms such as itching, licking, scratching, decreased sleep quality, irritability, and restlessness are complexly intertwined.

Recent veterinary medicine is focusing on evaluating not only skin lesions but also quality of life (QOL) and emotional stress.

On the other hand, there is a current situation where veterinary hospitals, grooming salons, and pet owners each handle these issues separately, leading to many on-site staff struggling with "where the line is between a dermatology problem and a behavioral problem."

Joint Seminar by Dermatologists and Animal Behavior Experts

In this seminar, a veterinarian specializing in dermatology and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine specializing in animal behavior will share a new perspective that views skin, stress, and behavior as an integrated whole.

Dr. Yoshida's Session

Dr. Yoshida, a veterinarian specializing in dermatology, will explain the differences in roles between care provided at grooming salons and dermatological treatment at veterinary hospitals.

Furthermore, based on actual dermatological cases, he plans to introduce case progressions utilizing CBD topical creams, rather than oral CBD oil.

Chie Mogi's Session

Chie Mogi, Academic Advisor of the Japan Animal CBD Association and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine specializing in animal behavior, will explain the basic dosage of CBD, the concept of dose escalation, methods for evaluating behavioral changes, and the importance of observational records.

She will share points that are often overlooked in clinical practice, such as "what to observe" rather than just "how many drops to administer."

Live Streaming Due to Full Capacity

Although the seminar was initially planned for in-person attendance only, due to reaching full capacity shortly after registration opened, live streaming via Instagram and Zoom will be implemented to allow more people to watch.
