[CONTEC] FLEXLAN® FX5000 Series Achieves IPA JC-STAR Level 1, Promoting Enhanced Security Measures

CONTEC Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Nishiyodogawa-ku, Osaka; Representative Director and President: Kazuyoshi Nishiyama) is pleased to announce that its industrial network product, the "FLEXLAN® FX5000 series," has been deemed compliant with "JC-STAR," a labeling system operated by the Information-technology Promotion Agency, Japan (IPA), under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. JC-STAR evaluates and visualizes the security performance of IoT devices.

In recent years, with the advancement of digitalization, the adoption of IoT systems has been rapidly increasing. Amidst this trend, cyberattacks targeting network products are on the rise, making the importance of cybersecurity measures for network products increasingly critical.

Our company is promoting the strengthening of security measures across the entire product and service development lifecycle. As a result, the FLEXLAN® FX5000 series has now obtained JC-STAR Level 1 (compliance label ★1).

While JC-STAR is a Japanese domestic labeling system, it is developed with coordination and harmonization with global security systems in mind, and mutual recognition with standards such as the EU Cybersecurity Act, UK PSTI Act, and US NISTIR is being considered.

To ensure that our customers can operate their IoT systems with peace of mind, we will continue to develop and provide network equipment products that meet high security standards.
