Mizuno will host the Japan Golf Tour (men's professional golf tournament) 'Road to The Open ~Mizuno Open~' for four days from May 28th (Thursday) to May 31st (Sunday), 2026, at JFE Setonaikai Golf Club (Okayama Prefecture). The top three players*1 in this tournament will qualify for the 154th Open Championship (to be held from July 16th to 19th, 2026, at Royal Birkdale GC in Northwest England). In addition, the top amateur player*2 in this tournament will qualify for the R&A-hosted 'Boys’ Amateur Championship' (to be held from August 10th to 15th, 2026, in Scotland). The winner of the 'Boys’ Amateur Championship' will qualify for the following year's Amateur Championship and the final qualifying round for The Open Championship. *1 Excluding those already qualified *2 Limited to high school students or younger (born on or after January 1st, 2008) This tournament, which has its roots in the 'Mizuno Golf Tournament' hosted by Mizuno in 1971, has been held as a qualifying event for 'The Open Championship' since 1998. This 55th anniversary tournament aims to be more deeply rooted in the community than ever before, including inviting elementary school students from Kasaoka City, the host city, to watch, and holding junior golf lessons by participating professionals. In addition, Mizuno aims to create an attractive golf tournament unique to Mizuno, with booths where visitors can try out Mizuno products such as the 'JPX ONE' driver released in March, and workshops for making things using scraps and waste materials from the baseball glove manufacturing process.
