SpiceMart Inc. conducted a survey targeting 126 new smartphone games that newly entered the top 200 of the App Store sales ranking for the first time in 2025 (hereinafter 'newly ranked-in'), based on data acquired from its proprietary management solution 'LIVEOPSIS'.
This survey investigates actual conditions such as the genre distribution of newly ranked-in titles, the presence or absence of IP utilization, and the ratio of titles originating overseas, and is currently being distributed as a report to 'LIVEOPSIS' contracting companies. This release introduces a part of its overview.

【Survey Overview】 Period: January 2025 to December 2025 Target: Smartphone game titles released during the period and listed as newly ranked-in apps in 'LIVEOPSIS' (*) Content: Genre distribution, presence/absence of IP utilization, ratio of overseas titles, etc. * Smartphone game titles that entered the top 200 of the App Store sales ranking for the first time. There are titles whose rankings rise months or years after release, but this time, for reasons such as 'seeing trends of new titles', apps passed 90 days after release or buy-to-play apps are excluded from this survey.
### RPGs account for about 70% of the newly ranked-in titles Looking at the genre composition of the 126 newly ranked-in titles in 2025, RPG genres including 'RPG', 'Idle RPG', and 'Action RPG' totaled 87 titles, accounting for about 70% of the total.
In SpiceMart's previous surveys, RPG titles were the most numerous at 45 in 2023, among which Idle RPGs stood at 21, showing an increasing trend over the past 3 years and raising their ratio within the genre, while MMORPGs and breeding simulations showed a decreasing trend.
### While original works account for about 60%, the higher ranks have a high proportion of Japanese IP titles In this survey, 'Non-IP' titles, which are original works among the newly ranked-in titles in 2025, accounted for a majority at 52%.
