SOYOKAZE Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Kiyohiko Nakagawa; hereinafter "the Company"), which operates elderly care services nationwide under the 'Soyokaze' brand, will open the dementia-specific group living care facility 'Shonandai Group Home Soyokaze' in Fujisawa City, Kanagawa Prefecture, on August 1, 2026.

This marks the first 'Soyokaze' brand facility in Fujisawa City, the 24th location in Kanagawa Prefecture, and the 9th group home within the prefecture. Leveraging expertise from operating 115 group homes nationwide (※1), the facility will create an environment where residents can continue daily activities such as cooking and community engagement.

At Shonandai Group Home Soyokaze, the core philosophy is 'do what you can, at your own pace,' providing support that respects each resident's lifestyle and abilities.

Living Without Giving Up What You Can Do, Even with Dementia

With dementia, everyday activities such as cooking, shopping, and community interaction may gradually decrease.

At Shonandai Group Home Soyokaze, staff do not take over all tasks preemptively. Instead, they respect each resident's abilities and habits, offering support only when necessary.

From Shopping to Cooking: Building Daily Life Through Food

With dementia, family members or caregivers often take over meal preparation due to safety concerns.

At Shonandai Group Home Soyokaze, meal preparation is considered an essential part of daily life. Residents are encouraged to participate in menu planning, shopping, and cooking within their comfort level.

Additionally, the facility actively organizes outings such as walks, shopping trips, and dining experiences to foster connections with the local community.

Integrating Community Connections into Daily Life

Shonandai Group Home Soyokaze features a 'Community Exchange Room' designed for interaction between residents, families, and local residents. Positioned as a shared living space within the community, the facility will operate as an open venue accessible to the public.

Ahead of opening, the facility has begun collaborating with nearby educational institutions. In the future, it plans to expand exchanges with local students, social resources, and volunteers.

The Community Exchange Room will serve as a hub for natural interactions among families, local residents, and volunteers.

'Kawane' and 'Sorane' – Floors Inspired by the Local Environment

The facility consists of two floors named 'Kawane' (River Sound) and 'Sorane' (Sky Sound), reflecting the desire for residents to live peacefully while feeling close to the region's natural environment.

The first-floor unit, 'Kawane,' is named after the gentle murmur of local rivers, symbolizing a calm and secure life.

The second-floor unit, 'Sorane,' is inspired by the open sky above the region, representing a free and personalized lifestyle.

【Center Director's Comment】

"Of course, we value each resident deeply, but we also place equal importance on creating a supportive environment for our staff. These efforts together lead to better care.

We do not assume that people with dementia cannot do things. Instead, we prioritize creating an environment where individuals can live authentically. We will continue to provide a safe and comfortable place by closely supporting each resident."
