This includes strengthening organizational and technical security management measures, employee training, and the development of an internal audit system. The acquisition of this certification signifies that these efforts have been appropriately evaluated by a third-party organization.

The Privacy Mark System is a certification system where a third-party organization evaluates and certifies that a business operator has established and is operating a system for the appropriate handling of personal information. It is operated by the Japan Information Economy and Society Promotion Association (JIPDEC), and certified businesses are awarded the "Privacy Mark." This system requires the establishment and operation of a comprehensive Personal Information Protection Management System (PMS), including the development of a management system based on the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, the implementation of training and audits, and information security measures.
