NAVITIME Launches U-Turn Restriction Map Display and Optimized Routing

NAVITIME Japan Co., Ltd. announced that starting May 28, 2026, its car navigation app 'カーナビタイム' will support 'No U-Turn' regulations by displaying icons on the map to alert drivers. Additionally, it will provide 'Active U-Turn Routing' that considers these regulations to guide drivers to appropriate U-turn locations. This feature was developed in response to numerous requests from taxi drivers who need to make U-turns for passenger drop-offs or missed turns. While incorrect U-turns on urban roads pose risks of accidents and traffic violations, proper U-turns help reduce travel distance. The app will visualize restricted sections in orange on the map and provide real-time alerts. Users can enable 'Active U-Turn' in settings to find routes that consider vehicle size and road width for safe U-turns.
