Cosmed Pharmaceutical Develops Beauty Industry's First 'Fully Hollow Microneedle' and Launches OEM/ODM Services

Cosmed Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kyoto, President: Young-Sook Kwon) has announced the completion of the 'fully hollow microneedle,' a first in the beauty industry, with OEM/ODM services scheduled to begin in July 2026. This new form of microneedle applies the company's medical device technology to inject high and low molecular weight solutions that are difficult to absorb through simple topical application. Key features include a fully hollow design, a record-high 74 needles, and the use of safe medical-grade polymers. Two types are available: facial (200μm) and scalp (600μm), allowing for customization based on specific needs such as dark spots, wrinkles, or hair growth. Verification tests showed a five-fold increase in the penetration of low-molecular-weight components and confirmed the penetration of high-molecular-weight components. Additionally, a 30% reduction in total wrinkle volume was observed after two weeks of use. The company maintains an integrated production system at its Kissho Factory, which holds cosmetic GMP and medical device ISO certifications, and is recognized for its manufacturing excellence with the 10th 'Monodzukuri Nippon Grand Award'.
