Free Distribution of Archived Seminar: "Copyright in the Generative AI Era Learned from the Basics Vol. 1" Broadcasting June 8

Creek & River Co., Ltd. (C&R) will distribute a free archive video of the online seminar "Copyright in the Generative AI Era Learned from the Basics Vol. 1: Is that OK? Basic Knowledge of Copyright" on Monday, June 8. Originally held in May of this year, the seminar is targeted at creators and those who wish to use AI-generated works with peace of mind.

Generative AI has spread rapidly in recent years. While it is extremely convenient, many people may be unsure of what is acceptable and what is not. To address this, C&R is hosting a seminar to explain the copyright issues surrounding works created by generative AI.

The instructor is Makiko Hasegawa, a Certified Intellectual Property Management Skills Professional. The first session will focus on the "basic principles" that form the foundation for understanding copyright in the generative AI era. Makiko Hasegawa Certified Intellectual Property Management Skills Professional After engaging in research and development at a major plant engineering company, she was involved in patent applications and other duties in the Intellectual Property Department. As an IP representative, she participated in launching a new business directly under the president. While struggling, she teamed up with legal, development, and sales departments, and learned how to build business models from external consultants. As she learned about overall business concepts such as brand creation and marketing, she realized that intellectual property is not merely for protecting rights and avoiding risks, but also an indicator of corporate value, which drew her to the fascination and importance of IP.
