TV Anime 'City Hunter' Revival Broadcast on Nittele Plus Starting June 3, 2026

CS Nippon Co., Ltd. (Minato-ku, Tokyo) will broadcast the anime 'City Hunter' on its CS channel, 'Nittele Plus Drama/Anime/Music Live,' starting June 3, 2026. The series will feature two consecutive episodes every weekday evening.

'City Hunter' is a renowned manga series by Tsukasa Hojo, first serialized in 'Weekly Shonen Jump' in 1985. The TV anime adaptation premiered in 1987 on the Nippon TV network, creating a significant social phenomenon at the time.

The protagonist, Ryo Saeba, is a legendary 'sweeper' known in the underworld for his peerless marksmanship. Dangerous missions begin when clients write the code 'XYZ' on the station's bulletin board. This broadcast highlights the original anime's unique storytelling and action sequences featuring iconic firearms and vehicles.

The ending theme, 'Get Wild' by TM NETWORK, remains a top-tier anime song even decades later. As the television series approaches its 40th anniversary next year, this broadcast aims to appeal to both long-time fans and younger audiences who discovered the franchise through recent live-action adaptations.
