CureApp Co., Ltd. (CureApp / Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Kota Satake; hereinafter referred to as "our company") is pleased to report that the "Let's All Reduce Salt Festival Campaign," held from Thursday, May 14, 2026, to Wednesday, June 17, 2026, in support of the spirit of "World Hypertension Day" on May 17, received over 10,000 applications and concluded with great success.

This campaign was held in collaboration with four food manufacturers: Kagome Co., Ltd. (hereinafter Kagome), Yamaki Co., Ltd. (hereinafter Yamaki), Otsuka Foods Co., Ltd. (hereinafter Otsuka Foods), and Oisix Co., Ltd. (hereinafter Oisix). The objective was to provide an opportunity for those concerned about their lifestyle habits to incorporate "enjoyable daily salt reduction" into their routines through prizes and content that support lifestyle improvements.

The survey results revealed that the preconceived notion of "salt reduction equals bland taste or deprivation" was overturned. Furthermore, it confirmed an increased awareness of the value of products (such as retort pouches, "dashi" stock, and meal kits) offered by the collaborating companies, leading to empathy and trust in each company.

◆Campaign Results Summary

We received over 10,000 applications, significantly exceeding the number from past campaigns (approximately 4,000 applications). The survey results once again highlighted that many consumers "feel the need for salt reduction for their own and their family's health, but find it difficult to continue due to decreased taste or increased effort." On the other hand, by experiencing the concrete solutions (products and content) provided by the food manufacturers, participants' perceptions of salt reduction changed. It was confirmed that they were positively considering incorporating salt reduction into their own lives, suggesting that the campaign led to actual behavioral changes.

◆Voices from Consumers Seen in the Survey (Excerpts from Free Responses)

We present excerpts from free responses to show how consumer awareness changed positively through the campaign. (※These are personal opinions.)

1. Improved Food Education and Health Awareness Through Experience, and a Sense of Security with Familiar Manufacturers

Regarding Kagome's initiative, which allowed participants to experience everything from vegetable harvesting to enjoying their taste, many voices expressed a desire to deepen their interest in food and a sense of security and expectation towards the efforts of familiar manufacturers.

"It was a very attractive campaign that made salt reduction feel fun and accessible. The experience from vegetable harvesting to 'deliciousness' seems to deepen not only health awareness but also interest in food. It was a plan that utilized the deliciousness of vegetables, typical of Kagome, and I wanted to participate with my family!"

"I think it's great that familiar manufacturers like Kagome are running campaigns like this."

2. From "Salt Reduction = Bland Taste" to "Solved by Dashi" - Surprise and Rediscovery of Product Value

Amidst many voices expressing a desire for salt reduction but reluctance to sacrifice taste, the approach of utilizing the umami of dashi garnered significant anticipation.

"I had a preconceived notion that salt reduction inevitably means 'bland and unsatisfying taste,' but I am very interested in 'delicious salt reduction' that only Yamaki, with its expertise in dashi umami, can create."

"I didn't know that using dashi could lead to salt reduction. I will definitely try to use it."

3. Lowering the "Psychological Barrier" Through the Use of Retort Pouches and Meal Kits, and Creating New Demand

The fact that appropriately salted retort pouches and meal kits can be utilized in busy daily meal preparation brought great surprise and reassurance to participants.

"I only had a negative image of retort pouches, so I was surprised that salt content could be controlled with them."

"I used to think retort pouches were high in salt. I didn't even know such products existed. (Omitted) Cooking after a tiring day can be tough, so I thought I'd try using retort pouches with controlled salt content."

"I often make and eat Oisix meals supervised by Ootoya, like bibimbap and happosai, but I didn't know about their healthcare products, so I wanted to try them on this occasion."

"I tend to find salt reduction troublesome and hard to continue, but I realized that using retort pouches or meal kits could make it easier and less daunting, which lightened my mood."

4. Earnest Voices Concerned About Family Health and High Evaluation of Corporate Collaboration

Many voices expressed concerns not only about their own health but also about managing the health of their loved ones. Furthermore, comments showed strong empathy for the stance of multiple companies cooperating to solve health challenges.

"My husband started taking medication for high blood pressure. It's difficult to consistently prepare low-salt meals at home. I'm glad to have learned that using dashi can help reduce salt!"

"It's very helpful that well-known manufacturers propose salt-reduced meals that are easy to incorporate into daily life. This is a strong ally for an aging society."

"I felt it was very meaningful and wonderful that separate companies cooperated on a single initiative."

◆We Are Seeking Partner Companies

This campaign demonstrated that to lower the "physical and psychological barriers" to salt reduction and lifestyle improvement faced by consumers, it is essential to provide practical, "delicious, easy, and fun" concrete solutions. CureApp will continue to plan and promote initiatives that support lifestyle improvements by deepening collaboration with diverse companies that support consumer health, aiming to create a greater impact on society.
