Daitec Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinagawa, Tokyo; President: Akinori Nomura; hereafter Daitec) conducted a survey on "AI usage and motivation" among 68 participants of their company AI seminar. Respondents were primarily housing contractors with a high interest in AI utilization.
While attention to generative AI is rising rapidly, this survey uncovered a significant gap between the "hype" and "actual utilization" in the field.
AI utilization is progressing, but an 'Individual-first, organizational-lag' structure exists While 85% of respondents use AI in some form, most use it only at an individual level (59%), with only 13% stating they use AI company-wide. In other words, while individual usage is expanding, enterprise-wide implementation and operation remain limited, highlighting an "individual-first, organizational-lag" structure.
'The barriers are not just technology, but also environmental preparation' Top concerns regarding AI utilization were "accuracy/reliability" (60%), followed by "internal penetration/operation" (57%), and "security" (53%). These results suggest that the core issue is not just the performance of the AI itself, but also the "operational environment" where it can be used with confidence. The high response rate regarding "internal penetration/operation" and "security" indicates that systemic design and operational frameworks are vital themes for corporate AI adoption.
The key to AI utilization is shifting from 'Introduction' to 'Retention' Regarding future intentions, 97% of respondents said they want to "use it actively" or "use it depending on the content," showing extremely high motivation. However, as most actual usage remains at an individual level, organizational retention remains a challenge. Given this, the focus is shifting from "introducing AI" to "how to create a state where it can be used continuously on-site."
Daitec is promoting initiatives to merge AI with their core system "Chumon Bunjo Cloud DX" and the construction management app "Genba Plus." By integrating AI with existing business SaaS, the company aims to build an environment where AI can be utilized "safely, on-site, and continuously," including security and operational rules. Beyond simple tool introduction, the policy is to support the entrenchment and expansion of practical AI utilization by embedding it naturally into daily business operations.
