From the release event of 'Nainara Kakeba Iijanaika!' by Manamo Miyata

The release event for 'Nainara Kakeba Iijanaika!', published by Daiwa Shobo Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Tetsu Daiwa) on May 20, 2026, took place at Book 1st Shinjuku on May 24, 2026.

Manamo Miyata appeared at the press conference preceding the event. While she has received acclaim for various works such as 'Kirakirashi' (Shinchosha), 'Haru, Deai' (Kodansha), 'Ayafuyade, Futashikana' (Gentosha), 'Watashino Otome' (Tanka Kenkyusha), and 'Oishii wa Yasashii' (PHP Institute), this is her first attempt at an essay collection. She admitted to feeling anxious during the writing process, wondering "who would read this?," but pressed on with the encouragement of her editor.

The book is structured around themes including her inner thoughts, observations of the outside world, life at home, and experiences outside the house. It captures Miyata's thoughts through specific experiences such as memories of breakups, feelings toward her family, deep affection for paperback books, the joys of 'otaku' life, and marriage.

"I believe people of my generation, those deep into fandom activities, and those who struggle with complexity will be able to empathize," she said, conveying her passion for the work.

Approximately 200 people participated in the book-signing event following the press conference. After interacting with her readers, Miyata remarked, "There were so many customers who were looking forward to this essay collection, and I'm really glad I wrote it!"
