Daytona Co., Ltd. (4805 Ichinomiya, Mori-cho, Shuchi-gun, Shizuoka Prefecture, Representative Director Tetsuji Oda), a manufacturer of motorcycle aftermarket parts, will release the "43/RIDE Cot" (hereinafter referred to as the 43/RIDE Cot).

Adopting high-rigidity A7075 super duralumin, it achieves both a tough load capacity of 120kg and compact storage. A cot that suppresses unpleasant creaking sounds to the extreme and invites comfortable sleep has been born.

[Challenging the trade-off between comfort and storage]

Conventional camping cots have always involved a trade-off between comfort and storage: "sturdy and comfortable ones are heavy and bulky," and "lightweight and compact ones have complex setup and concerns about comfort and durability." Especially for motorcycle touring and solo camping where carrying capacity is limited, choosing a cot has been a source of worry. Therefore, we began developing a cot that could simultaneously achieve three difficult-to-reconcile elements: "compact storage and easy portability," "a structure that can be set up quickly," and "comfortable sleeping." After repeated prototyping and testing, we completed the compact cot "43/RIDE Cot."

5 Features of the "43/RIDE Cot"

1 Compact Design

Designed with a structure that allows the leg frames and side frames to be stored separately. This solves the problem of "being long and getting in the way of packing," which is common with conventional cots. Its size fits on a motorcycle's rear carrier, side bag, or backpack, significantly reducing luggage stress for solo camping and touring. *Some bags may not fit. Please consider external mounting.

2 "Comfortable Sleep" and "Quietness"

The tension of the bed surface is adjustable. It supports the body firmly without sinking too much, reducing common camping discomforts like "waking up with body aches." The unpleasant "creaking" sound that occurs with every turn in the middle of the night has been a cause of sleep deprivation during camping. The "43/RIDE Cot" uses mesh fabric inside the bed surface frame loop. Furthermore, by applying a sandblast treatment to the surface of the side frames, we have reduced unpleasant creaking sounds and achieved quietness.

3 Quick Setup & Takedown

"Guide fabric" has been added to the back of the bed surface. This reduces the stress of frames getting caught or popping out midway, allowing for smooth insertion of a single frame ( *Some skill is required for smooth insertion). To ensure a firm tension of the fabric, a lever structure utilizing the principle of leverage is adopted for the leg frames. The design allows for easy locking and assembly.

4 High Rigidity Comparable to Aircraft! Materials Pursuing Durability and Portability

The frame uses "A7075 (super duralumin)," which boasts the highest class of strength among aluminum alloys and is also used in aircraft and Shinkansen bullet trains, achieving both lightness and overwhelming rigidity. The fabric uses "300D (denier)" polyester fabric, which balances thickness and lightness. It is resistant to tearing and stretching, allowing for long-term use.

Despite its lightweight and compact design, it passed a 200kg for 24-hour load capacity test conducted by the production factory's unique internal testing. The product specification achieves a "load capacity of 120kg."

5 "High/Low 2-Way Specification" That Can Be Changed According to Style

It can be switched between a "high cot" style that reduces cold air and heat from the ground and makes it easier to stand up, and a "low cot" style that can be used without feeling cramped inside solo tents such as pup tents.
