Delta Air Lines has completed the first phase of its second 'Delta One Lounge' at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and has begun operations. Located on the mezzanine level of Terminal 2, the lounge spans approximately 4,000 square feet (about 372 square meters) and offers seating for 75 guests. The second phase of construction is scheduled for completion in 2028.

Additionally, a new 11,000-square-foot (approximately 1,022 square meters) 'Delta Sky Club' is set to open at Terminal 2 in 2027. With this expansion, Delta’s total number of lounges—comprising both Delta One Lounges and Delta Sky Clubs—will reach 60 worldwide, making it the U.S. airline with the most lounges.

A Space Designed for Serenity and Comfort

Delta One Lounges are currently located in New York (JFK), Boston, Seattle, and Los Angeles (two locations), each uniquely designed to reflect the character of its city and offer distinct experiences. Unlike the large Delta One Lounge in Terminal 3, the Terminal 2 lounge emphasizes a calm and relaxed atmosphere, focusing on providing guests a space to enjoy a leisurely meal.

The lounge features large windows overlooking the runways, creating an open and naturally lit environment. It also showcases artwork from seven Los Angeles-based artists, highlighting connections to local culture.

In terms of amenities, the lounge includes three shower suites, four cabana-style restrooms, and a premium bar for guests seeking relaxation. For those working, portable monitors and wireless charging stations are available.

Guests can access the Terminal 2 Delta One Lounge via a dedicated shuttle cart after passing through the Delta One dedicated check-in and security screening area on the arrivals level of Terminal 3.

Elevated Dining Meets Local Flair

Both the Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 Delta One Lounges offer table-service dining featuring thoughtfully curated dishes that blend local ingredients with premium culinary experiences.

Signature menu items include house-made lumache pasta with lamb bolognese, hamachi crudo made with fish flown in daily from Japan, and the popular French onion soup.

For breakfast, offerings include acai bowls, huevos rancheros, locally inspired pastries, and small-batch jams delivered daily from 'Sqirl,' a popular East Hollywood restaurant. Many ingredients used in the menu are sourced from farms within California.

The premium bar features cocktails inspired by Delta’s global network. The signature cocktail, 'Island Sapphire,' is a vibrant blue drink inspired by the Los Angeles–Honolulu route. Non-alcoholic options include the 'Vitality Shot'—a blend of coconut, turmeric, and black pepper—cacao and protein smoothies, and coffee and tea from 'Verve,' a Santa Cruz-based roastery.

Los Angeles as Delta’s Global Gateway

This lounge expansion is not merely a facility upgrade but a strategic investment in Delta’s long-term vision for LAX. By 2028, both Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 will each feature a 'Delta One Lounge' and a 'Delta Sky Club,' resulting in a total of four dedicated lounges at the airport.

As the largest global airline at LAX and a key West Coast gateway, Delta operates up to 151 flights to 50 destinations on peak days. In addition to new nonstop services launched this year to Hong Kong and Chicago O’Hare, Delta will begin service to Vancouver (starting November 21) and Newark (starting April 2027), further strengthening connectivity between Los Angeles and major domestic and international markets.

Ongoing investments in Delta One Lounges and Delta Sky Clubs aim to elevate the customer experience in preparation for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles.
