Descente Brand Signs Advisory Contract with Track and Field Long-Distance Runner Ryuto Igawa

Descente Japan Ltd. (Headquarters: Toshima-ku, Tokyo; President: Tsuyoshi Shimada) has signed an advisory contract with Ryuto Igawa, a long-distance runner belonging to the Asahi Kasei Track and Field Club, under the 'Descente' brand.

Igawa competed in the Hakone Ekiden for four consecutive years during his time at Waseda University, playing an active role as an ace. After joining the Asahi Kasei Track and Field Club, he further evolved, winning a section prize at the 2025 New Year Ekiden, contributing to the team's victory. In the same year, he won the 5000m at the Japan Championships, leading the prestigious Asahi Kasei team with his overwhelming last spurt. As a top runner in Japanese long-distance running, he is expected to achieve further success not only domestically but also on the world stage.

Going forward, we will support Igawa through the supply of running shoes (for road races), training wear, training shoes, etc. We will also conduct in-store promotions and promotional activities featuring Igawa, and utilize his advice in product development.
