Digital Hollywood STUDIO will renew its 'UI/UX Design Major' curriculum starting in October 2026.

Digital Hollywood STUDIO, a learning studio operated by the IT and digital content training school Digital Hollywood (Digital Hollywood Co., Ltd.; Head Office/Main Campus: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Masanori Fujii), will renew its 'UI/UX Design Major' curriculum from October 2026.

The new curriculum introduces client work based on real-world projects for UI/UX improvement. It is designed so that students not only 'can create' but also 'can think about why that improvement is necessary,' learning to propose improvements from both user experience and business perspectives. Furthermore, the learning environment for AI utilization and systematic UX studies will be expanded, evolving into education that anticipates careers such as product designer or product manager beyond that of a UI/UX designer.

Companies Demand 'Improvers' Not Just 'Creators' Currently, what companies emphasize in recruitment is not just the finished design. They are looking for talent who can explain the thought process and problem-solving steps: 'Why is this improvement necessary?', 'Where are users getting lost?', and 'What results can be expected from this improvement?'. With the evolution of generative AI lowering the hurdle for production itself, it is becoming increasingly important to be able to 'think and propose' in addition to 'being able to create.'

Why Study UI/UX Now? UI/UX designer demand is rising as a highly specialized role. Compared to web designers, the active job opening ratio for UI/UX designers is a high 39.4x. According to Indeed's 'Salary/Annual Income Guide,' the average annual income for a full-time UI/UX designer is 7.25 million yen (as of April 2026).

Aiming for Success with the New Curriculum This revision introduces project-based UI/UX improvement client work, AI utilization, and the UX Certification (Basic). Through these, students will learn practical skills from discovering user issues to proposing improvements. The goal is to nurture talent who can not only produce designs but also provide the necessary information for teams and companies to make informed decisions.
