<Nobuyasu Okabayashi's Comment>
I never know when a song will come to me. Songs are mysterious. These songs on the album emerged as I approached my 80th birthday. I would be delighted if people of my generation enjoy them!
Throughout my life, I've used music to explore society and myself, asking questions of both the world and my inner self through songs that could only be sung at that moment.
This album includes nine tracks that reflect my authentic self—tackling not only aging but also the profound theme of impending death, yet still containing moments that make you laugh and cry.
Stripped of all excess, the lyrics and melodies are simple and pure. This is what a 'song' truly should be. The liner notes are written by rakugo performer Shinosuke Tatekawa. And this may likely be my final original album. As a long-standing artist at the forefront of Japanese folk music, his enduring presence and undiminished message continue to draw significant attention.
