Background

Since establishing a local office in Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture in 2013, DIT has actively contributed to business development in regional cities by hiring local IT talent, growing to over 80 employees. Leveraging this experience, DIT opened the "DX Business Research Laboratory Hakodate Branch" in Hakodate City in November 2023 and the "Hokuto AI Satellite" in Hokuto City in January 2025.

In Hakodate and Hokuto, DIT has promoted initiatives such as student internships for regional revitalization, smart agriculture projects aiming to establish business models within Hokkaido, and feasibility studies on sewer pipe inspections using AI technology, all under industry-government-academia collaboration. By utilizing the knowledge and networks accumulated through these activities, DIT is actively addressing regional challenges.

Purpose

Matsumae Town has positioned DX as a key means to achieve sustainable community development based on its "Smart Shrink SX Vision" and "Matsumae Town DX Promotion Plan."
