ECOMMIT Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Satsumasendai City, Kagoshima Prefecture; CEO: Teruyuki Kawano; hereinafter 'ECOMMIT') is a circular trading company that builds infrastructure for the collection, sorting, and redistribution of unwanted items to 'realize a society that does not discard.' It operates the resource circulation service 'PASSTO,' providing options to 'pass' items to the next person instead of 'discarding' them when they are no longer needed in daily life. The company is launching the '1BUY→1PASSTO' action with the message 'If you buy one, pass one to the future,' and will conduct a campaign from 'Zero Waste Day' on May 30 (Sat) to June 30 (Tue) this year, donating to zero-waste initiatives based on the weight of unwanted items collected. '1BUY→1PASSTO' is an initiative to spread the action of circulation—'passing to the next'—at the same time as 'buying,' during the season when there are more opportunities to buy new things due to seasonal changes. During the campaign period, for every kilogram of unwanted items 'passed' via home-delivery PASSTO or participating campaign locations, ECOMMIT will donate 3 yen to the general incorporated association Zero Waste Japan, led by our CCO Akira Sakano. The donations will be used to support waste reduction activities and sustainable community development across Japan through the activities of Zero Waste Japan.
