Purpose of the Training
Eigyou Hack continues to support various companies in sales, striving toward our mission of 'eliminating sales struggles.' While sales is often described as 'difficult' or 'something I don’t want to do,' it remains an indispensable role for corporate growth.
To deliver the results our clients desire and solve the challenges faced by many sales professionals, we continuously refine our internal sales know-how. We believe that by first experimenting and accumulating data and expertise within our own company, we can better serve our clients.
Additionally, as a long-term mission, Eigyou Hack has set the goal of 'freeing sales education.' We aim to create an environment where anyone can equally learn sales—a critical business skill—and are transforming our internal systems to move toward this ideal of accessible sales education.
Training Summary: What Happened on the Day
This training was conducted to re-evaluate whether our daily telemarketing activities align with our creed: **'Did we act in a way that makes others feel: “I’m glad we met, I’m glad we talked, I’m glad we asked”?'** We utilized online room features to foster active discussions and deepen learning.
1. Workshop: Articulating 'Good Calls' and 'Good Telemarketing Calls'
In the first half of the training, participants were divided into groups of 3–4 to share their thoughts on two themes. To encourage logical expression, presentations using the 'PREP (Conclusion, Reason, Example, Conclusion)' method were recommended.
Theme 1: What makes a 'good call'?
Participants shared definitions based on personal experiences, such as 'friendly tone,' 'clearly stating the purpose,' and 'actively listening to me.'
Theme 2: What makes a 'good telemarketing call'?
Building on Theme 1, participants discussed what constitutes a 'good telemarketing call' from the perspective of the caller.
2. The Essential Foundation: 'Good Calls' Before Techniques
After the workshop, the instructor delivered a key message: **'Only with the foundation of a good call can a good telemarketing call exist.'** At Eigyou Hack, we emphasize actions like 'saying thank you three times,' 'making three follow-up proposals,' and 'conducting thorough follow-ups.' However, no matter how skillfully these techniques are applied, they won’t resonate with clients if the base—'a good call' (a conversation that shows empathy)—is missing. The training emphasized that creating comfortable communication for the other person must come first, not reversing the order by chasing results.
3. Be a Good Person Before Being a Good Salesperson
During the training, examples were shared of salespeople with strong performance but poor daily conduct (e.g., behavior in smoking rooms or restrooms, speaking ill of others). To make clients want to continue working with you, 'how you behave as a person' matters even before sales skills. Before making appointment requests or follow-ups, the most important thing is whether your behavior and interactions make others feel:
**'I’m glad we met, I’m glad we talked, I’m glad we asked.'**
4. The Words You Use Shape Your Thinking
Instead of 'securing appointments,' we say 'receiving an opportunity.' Sales is a job conducted through language, and the words we use shape our thinking. Therefore, at Eigyou Hack, we consciously choose our words in internal communication.
'Opportunity' instead of 'acquisition': We avoid the term 'appointment acquisition' and use 'receiving an opportunity,' reflecting our belief that appointments are not something to be taken from others.
'One more push' instead of 'rebuttal': Rather than adopting a confrontational 'rebuttal' stance, we use 'one more push'—reiterating our proposal with gratitude.
Summary
In daily operations aimed at delivering valuable offerings to those who need them, it’s easy to become overly focused on 'results' or fall into comfortable routines. This training served as a valuable reflection, reminding us of the fundamental premise: our work is about making 'the call that starts a meaningful connection for delivering value.' It reinforced our commitment to continue making thoughtful outreach.
