Elecom Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Osaka; President: Koichi Iwami) is pleased to announce that its mobile batteries have been certified under the 'Eco Mark,' an environmental label for products with low environmental impact, managed by the Japan Environment Association (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Chairman: Ikufumi Niimi), specifically under the new product category No. 169, 'Mobile Battery Version 1.'

The Eco Mark certification for mobile batteries was launched on April 16, 2026, and is the world's first environmental label compliant with ISO 14024 for this product category. Elecom's products are the first to receive this certification.

While mobile batteries are essential for daily life and disaster preparedness, improper disposal has led to over 16,000 smoke and fire incidents annually, becoming a significant social issue. Furthermore, collection and recycling became mandatory in Japan starting April 1st of this year. This certification serves as proof of meeting strict new standards, providing consumers with a reliable indicator for products designed for 'safe long-term use' and 'proper disposal.'

Key features of the certified products include the use of recycled plastic for the casing, a reliable circuit design with five protection functions, and a QR code on the device to guide users to nearby collection points, ensuring environmental consideration throughout the product lifecycle.
