This marks the 4th time this exhibition has been held. Set in the tranquil space of a Zen temple, it presents the essence of Japanese craftsmanship and the potential for new expressions.

Additionally, the ambient live performance 'THE WAVE' planned by TIME&SPACE™️, to be held on Saturday, June 6, has completely sold out of tickets.

'NEXT JAPAN CRAFT' ~The Next Generation of Japanese Manufacturing~

Weaving the shape of the future from the climate of the land.

Since ancient times, Japanese craftsmanship has walked hand in hand with the 'climate' of its local land.

Abundant water, fertile soil, the scent of the wind, the changing seasons. Unparalleled handiwork is born from the wisdom of living closely with nature and cherishing its blessings.

However, the 'tradition' we must protect is never about remaining in the past.

It is about changing forms to suit the times, intersecting with new technologies, and continuously updating what was considered normal until yesterday.

'Tradition is continuously new.'

With these words in our hearts, we combine 'Tradition x Future' to explore value for the next generation.

The handiwork that once supported village life has become the culture of the nation, and now crosses borders and oceans to reach the world.

Because it has a local background, it resonates in a global era. While harboring the memory of the land, it quietly blends into modern lifestyles.

That is the core concept of 'NEXT JAPAN CRAFT' that we aim for.

While paying respect to the beauty of nature, we explore new possibilities for Japanese manufacturing.

Experience Japanese Craftsmanship and Spatial Beauty in a Zen Temple Space

At the '., Exhibition 2024 "Komyoin of Tanabata"' organized by QUTOTEN.

The venue, Komyoin Temple, is a sub-temple of Tofukuji, also known as the 'Rainbow Moss Temple.'

Contemporary craftworks and spatial designs will unfold within the dry landscape garden and the space enveloped in silence.

In this exhibition, in addition to showcasing artworks, a portion of the works will be available for sale. Expressions spanning various genres, including traditional crafts, contemporary art, fashion, and music, will gather here.

During the exhibition period, Art Cafe Itoyufu will also offer 'Komyoin Tea,' 'Coffee,' 'Matcha Latte,' and 'Grape Juice' within Komyoin. They will curate a time to savor the lingering charm of the artworks and the space.

Ambient Live 'THE WAVE' *Tickets Sold Out

On Saturday, June 6, from 18:00 to 21:00, the ambient live performance 'THE WAVE,' produced by TIME&SPACE™️, will take place.

'THE WAVE' is a nature-centric ambient session by TIME&SPACE™️, advocating a 'philosophy of sound that dialogues with nature.'

~ Form is Emptiness, Emptiness is Form, Wave-Particle Duality, A Bird's Eye View ~ Ambient Session with Nature

Every existing entity emits its own unique 'wave.'

Colors, sounds, brainwaves, quanta, emotions, trends, and climates are all 'waves.'

The smallest unit of the universe might be a 'wave.' It is the most highly abstract communication that penetrates all of creation.

'Sound' is vibration and frequency. Dense waves that vibrate the air.

It crosses the boundaries of life, species, physics, and spirit, connecting the past and the future.

What do stones feel, and what does the wind gaze upon? The memories of water, the conversations of fire, the death of stars, the circulation of light.

From the ripples of sound, the contours of the world can be heard.

On the day of the event, an exclusive, one-night-only musical experience will unfold on the stage of Komyoin's nighttime dry landscape garden, 'Hashintei,' where guitars, beatboxing, and natural sounds will intersect amidst the light of Japanese candles.
