Make a Wish in the Tokyo Odaiba Night Sky. "Odaiba Beach & Odaiba Lantern" to be Held on Saturday, May 9 & Saturday, June 6, 2026, Illuminating Early Summer!

The Japan e-Lantern Association will host an experiential event where environmentally friendly and safe "e-lanterns" are floated into the sky for two special days, illuminating early summer.

The Japan e-Lantern Association will hold the "LED Lantern Release Experience" at Odaiba Marine Park on two days: Saturday, May 9, 2026, and Saturday, June 6, 2026.

The lanterns used are LED type, which do not use fire.

They float with helium gas and can be retrieved with a string, achieving both environmental consideration and safety.

The soft light of the lanterns will spread across the Odaiba night sky, overlooking the Rainbow Bridge.

The Japan e-Lantern Association uses products from [Rantan-ya], which are also adopted in TV commercials and events hosted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.

Rantan-ya's lanterns use LEDs instead of fire.

They are designed to be retrieved with a string, ensuring both safety and environmental consideration.

Unlike lanterns made only of balloon material, they are characterized by the soft light that spreads through Japanese paper.

The "paper-made" lanterns, familiar to the Japanese sensibility, are somewhat nostalgic and provide a light that soothes the hearts of those who see them.
