GREEN x EXPO 2027 Official Licensed Product: Collaboration with a Hugely Popular Character Decided - Announcement of 'Hikonyan' and 'Tunk Tunk' Collaboration Goods

The GREEN x EXPO Association (Official name: Japan Association for the 2027 International Horticultural Expo; Chairperson: Yoshinobu Tsutsui; Location: Naka-ku, Yokohama) and the 2027 International Horticultural Expo Master License Office (Representative Executive: Hiroaki Shimizu; Location: Nishi-ku, Yokohama) are pleased to announce the release of official collaboration merchandise between 'Tunk Tunk', the official mascot of GREEN x EXPO 2027 to be held in Yokohama in 2027, and the popular character 'Hikonyan' from Hikone City, Shiga Prefecture, to commemorate Hikonyan's 20th anniversary.

In addition, 'Tunk Tunk' will rush to celebrate at 'Hikonyan's' birthday event, which will be held in Hikone City for two days on Sunday, April 12, and Monday, April 13, 2026.

This collaboration was realized against the backdrop of the historical relationship that Yokohama City, the host city of GREEN x EXPO 2027, has maintained with Hikone City since the opening of its port. By linking 'Tunk Tunk' with 'Hikonyan', who was born in Hikone City and has been widely loved across the country for many years, we will build momentum for GREEN x EXPO 2027 throughout Japan via these collaboration goods.

About the Collaboration Illustration The illustration newly drawn for this collaboration features the trio: 'Tunk Tunk', 'Hikonyan', and 'Warunyanko Shogun'. It is a heartwarming artwork surrounded by rich greenery and flowers, reflecting the theme of the Expo. We are currently developing official collaboration products using this illustration. Further details will be announced on the 2027 International Horticultural Expo Master License Office website as soon as they are finalized.
