When was the last time you enjoyed 'mandarin oranges under a kotatsu'?

Winter at Washinmura means mandarin oranges, kotatsu (heated tables), and cats. Just those simple things create a strangely happy time.

- Traditional houses, tents, and Jyubako (mobile houses) are all fully equipped with kotatsu. - The winter healing experience: when you peel a mandarin orange, a cat gently snuggles up to you. - A winter break enjoyable for families, friends, couples, or solo travelers.

A countryside kotatsu time that feels 'better than visiting parents, more intimate than traveling.' Why not come and experience a special Washinmura available only this winter?

- Kotatsu Mandarin Orange Festival currently underway (Dec 1 - Feb 28) - Traditional House Glamping Washinmura - For reservations and details, please follow the link in our profile.

Located in the countryside of Futtsu, Chiba, 'Washinmura' is a small glamping village with only 6 rooms. On a property dotted with traditional houses and Nagayamon gates built about 200 years ago, as well as tents and Jyubako, we live together with 15 rescue cats, goats, dogs, and Silkie chickens.

During the day, you can carry a traditional basket on your back and climb slopes or explore the forest. A traditional 'original experience' of playing with your whole body awaits. At night, chat leisurely while watching the flames of a bonfire. Seeing a cat curled up and sleeping right beside you is a common sight at Washinmura. We would be delighted if you casually enjoyed such a day in the countryside.

For detailed facility introductions, room types, rates, and availability, please visit our official website.

[Regarding Animal Treats] Under veterinary guidance and to manage the health of our cats, we kindly ask you to refrain from bringing commercially available treats, as it is difficult to monitor their contents. If you wish to give them treats, please purchase the treats sold at the Washinmura shop (available in limited quantities, carefully selected additive-free, and domestic ingredients).

[Important Notes] - Cats roam freely on the premises. Please be careful if you have allergies. - The animals are whimsical, so we do not know which room they will visit, and it is not guaranteed they will come. - The cats and dogs at Washinmura have undergone spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations, and tick prevention treatments.
