Merry Christmas from the countryside of Futtsu, Chiba.
Located in the natural landscape of Futtsu, Chiba, 'Washinmura' is a small glamping village with only 6 rooms. In a site dotted with a 200-year-old traditional folk house, a Nagayamon gate, tents, and Jyubako (mobile houses), humans live together with 15 rescue cats, goats, dogs, and a family of Silky Fowls.
During the day, guests can enjoy a traditional 'primitive experience' by climbing slopes with carrying baskets on their backs, exploring the forest, and playing with their whole bodies. At night, guests can slowly chat while watching the flames of a bonfire. It is a common sight at Washinmura to see a cat curled up and sleeping next to the fire.
The facility hopes guests can enjoy such a day in the countryside and the healing power of nature and animals. For detailed facility introductions, room types, rates, and availability, please visit the official website.
Regarding Animal Snacks Under the guidance of a veterinarian, and for the health management of the cats, bringing in commercially available snacks is prohibited because it is difficult to manage their ingredients. If you wish to give snacks, please purchase the specific snacks sold at the Washinmura shop. These are sold in limited quantities and are carefully selected, such as being additive-free and made from domestic ingredients.
Cats live freely on the premises, so those with allergies should be careful. Additionally, animals are capricious, so it is unknown which room they will visit, and they may not always come. The cats and dogs at Washinmura are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and treated with tick preventatives.
The facility is located at 14 Takamizo, Futtsu City, Chiba Prefecture, which is a 90-minute drive from central Tokyo.
