Happy New Year 2026.

Today, representing the animal villagers of Washinmura, our dog Kirin went for the first shrine visit of the year to 'Aiiku Shrine,' which is Japan's first pet-exclusive shrine.

This year as well, the cats and all of our staff sincerely look forward to your visit. Thank you for your continued support of Washinmura in 2026.

Located in the satoyama (foothills) of Futtsu, Chiba, 'Washinmura' is a small glamping village with only 6 rooms in total. On our grounds dotted with an approximately 200-year-old traditional folk house, a nagayamon gate, tents, and jyubako (mobile houses), 15 rescue cats, goats, dogs, and a family of Silkie chickens live together with humans.

During the day, guests can enjoy nostalgic 'original experiences' using their whole bodies, such as climbing slopes carrying traditional woven baskets or exploring the forest. At night, guests can relax and chat while watching the flames of a campfire, often accompanied by the familiar sight of a cat curled up and sleeping right next to them.

We hope you can enjoy a day in such a satoyama setting and experience the healing power of nature and animals. For detailed facility introductions, room types, pricing, and availability, please visit our official website.

[Notice Regarding Animal Treats] Under the guidance of veterinarians and to manage the health of our cats, we ask that you refrain from bringing in commercially available treats, as it is difficult to monitor their ingredients.

If you wish to give the animals treats, please purchase the ones sold at the Washinmura shop (available in limited quantities). We have carefully selected these treats, ensuring they are additive-free and made from domestic ingredients. Thank you for your cooperation.

[Other Notices] - The cats live freely on the premises. Please be careful if you have allergies. - The animals act on their own whims, so we do not know which room they might visit, and there is no guarantee they will visit your room. - The cats and dogs at Washinmura have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and treated with tick prevention medication.
