The Wonderful Solutions Project Consortium (comprising International Ryobi Ferry, OHK, and Fairy Tale) will launch 'Fune YOGA,' an unprecedented yoga event on the rooftop observation deck of ferries sailing the Seto Inland Sea, starting in April 2026.
◆ Making the Setouchi Sea My Own Yoga Studio. The regular ferry route connecting Okayama/Takamatsu and Shodoshima is usually just 'travel time' to a destination. This spring, it transforms into a stage for a special experience. Enjoy the calm sea of the Seto Inland Sea, the 'multi-island beauty' woven by scattered islands, and the soft sea breeze.
Yoga on the rooftop observation deck provides an open-air location that helps you forget the hustle and bustle of daily life and leads to deep relaxation. Enjoying the sense of unity where the sky and sea melt together, with the sound of waves as background music, is a luxury unique to a 'moving venue' on a ship.
◆ Charms and Features of 'Fune YOGA' - Overwhelming sense of openness: A unique experience of taking a deep breath on the sea under an unobstructed sky. - Beginner-friendly program: Led by instructor Rie Yabe, head of TOUCA YOGA STUDIO, the content is enjoyable for first-timers. - Scenery that exists only 'now': Spend time facing yourself while watching the ever-changing Setouchi scenery from the moving ship.
◆ Event Overview - Dates: April 4-5, May 9-10, June 6-7, 2026 - Venue: International Ryobi Ferry Rooftop Observation Deck - Capacity: 15 people per session (prior reservation required, first-come-first-served) - Participation Fee: Free (Ferry fare required separately; please bring your own yoga mat or large towel)
◆ Why is it 'Free'? This is a challenge to connect the vital 'routes' of Setouchi to the future. We launched the 'ON-Fune' project to utilize ferries not just as transportation but as 'special places' (sea studios) to create new appeal for these routes. This free event is a special trial with the wish that as many people as possible experience the extraordinary comfort of being on a ship.
