Project name: 'Increasing Smiling Dads!' Community Collaboration Support Project for Fathers' Childcare Participation
Estimated grant amount: 3,824 thousand yen
Background of this project
While parenting can be challenging, it can also be shared and enjoyed with others. This project provides experiential programs for fathers and children to enjoy together, interaction spaces where fathers can relax and talk, and opportunities for couples to learn tips on approaching childcare as a team.
We will expand an environment where fathers themselves can feel that 'parenting is fun' and 'it's reassuring to tackle it as a family.' We aim for a change where fathers' involvement in childcare is not special but a natural and enjoyable option. Such a change will create warm cooperative relationships in families, prevent fathers' isolation, and foster an atmosphere where the entire community supports children's growth.

Four pillars of this WAM project
In this project, we aim to create an environment where fathers can engage in childcare effortlessly and joyfully, and we will develop initiatives based on the following four pillars.
① Development of experiential programs for fathers and children We will implement experiential programs where fathers and children can enjoy together, such as play, crafts, picture books, and experiments. Through these experiences, we will also promote the creation of connections among fathers.
② Learning opportunities for couples to collaborate We will conduct online courses to foster 'the ability to manage the household as a team,' focusing on the division of housework and childcare and communication.
③ Creation of interaction and consultation spaces for fathers We will newly create online and offline interaction spaces where fathers can easily connect and share their worries and experiences.
④ Continuous support in collaboration with local organizations We will collaborate with local governments, companies, and NPOs to expand father support not as a temporary initiative but as a mechanism rooted in the community.
Would you like to join us??
FJK, with the keyword 'Smiling Dads,' will create sustainable father support rooted in the community together with everyone. If you feel 'this initiative is good' or 'I want to do this together,' please join us. Each person's involvement will make local childcare more interesting and warm.
