Shibuya Future Design (Representative Director: Hideki Koizumi) has announced its participation as a full member of 'Sasahatahatsu Machi Lab' (Representative Director: Kyosuke Sakakura), an organization established to promote sustainable urban development in the Sasazuka, Hatagaya, and Hatsudai area (known as 'Sasahatahatsu').

Previously, 'Sasahatahatsu Machi Lab' operated as a co-creation project involving diverse stakeholders, including local residents, companies, government bodies, and universities. The initiative has driven various efforts to enrich daily life, such as community activity support (Sasahapi, 388 Area Makers, temporary FARM), public-private partnerships (public space MARCHE, discussion of a central base), and information dissemination. Following its incorporation, the organization aims to not only foster local community formation but also further strengthen corporate co-creation, increasing the number of companies, individuals, and activities involved in the area to build a foundation for sustainable urban development.

Shibuya Future Design will leverage its expertise and network in urban co-creation through industry-government-academia collaboration, cultivated in the Shibuya area, to drive corporate co-creation within the 'Sasahatahatsu Machi Lab.'

On May 16, 2026, the 'Suido-doro MARCHE vol.2' was held, featuring approximately 25 stalls run by residents, workers, and active members of the Sasahatahatsu area. The event provided an opportunity for diverse participants to think about the future of the area and served as a catalyst for new connections and co-creation.

Moving forward, the lab will act as a hub connecting local communities with businesses, promoting projects that address local issues and generate new regional value, while working on creating relational populations and area branding.

Sasahatahatsu Machi Lab remains committed to becoming a 'place where people want to be involved and where friends are,' promoting locally rooted, sustainable urban development through co-creation with various entities.
