FRJ to Introduce Next-Gen '2nd Gen' Vehicles in 2027

New Pacific Sports Marketing Co., Ltd., the promoter of the Formula Regional Japanese Championship (FRJ), has announced the introduction of the next-generation '2nd Gen' vehicle for the 2027 season.

Established in 2020, the FRJ is a championship dedicated to developing young drivers and advancing the formula racing category in Japan. This decision follows a comprehensive review of safety standards, global operational cost fluctuations, and the optimization of technical support structures.

### Specifications

#### Chassis: DOME F112 The 'DOME F112', developed by Dome Co., Ltd., will be adopted. Compliant with the 2026 FIA Formula Regional 2nd Gen regulations (Appendix J, 275A), it features the latest FIS, RIS, and survival cell configurations. The addition of a 3rd element enables independent control of ride height and pitching, allowing for more advanced vehicle setups. The aerodynamic package, optimized through wind tunnel testing and CFD analysis, offers a comprehensive learning environment for chassis engineering.

#### Engine: ATM163T The series will use the 'ATM163T' engine developed by Autotecnica Motori. It is based on the 1.6L inline 3-cylinder turbo engine 'G16E-GTS' found in the Toyota GR Yaris. TOM'S Co., Ltd. will handle the supply, maintenance, and technical support within Japan.

### Pricing and Schedule - Chassis: 111,500€ - Engine: 35,175€ - Schedule: Applications expected to open around July 2026, with deliveries beginning in 2027.

Starting in 2027, FRJ will be held as an international-format series, and entrants and drivers will be required to hold an international license.
