Fujisoft Expands SOM Sales Business, Strengthens AI/Edge Development Support - Signs Distribution Agreements with Two Taiwanese Companies, Launches SOMs with MediaTek Chips Domestically

Fujisoft Inc. (President and CEO: Mitsuhiro Murooka) has signed distribution agreements with Taiwan's AMobile Solutions Corp. (hereinafter "AMobile") and InnoComm Mobile Technology Corp. (hereinafter "InnoComm") to expand its System-on-Module (SOM) *1 sales business. Both AMobile and InnoComm are technology companies that handle products from MediaTek, a global leader in semiconductor manufacturing. Through this agreement, Fujisoft will begin selling SOMs equipped with MediaTek chips in Japan.

SOMs Gaining Traction in AI and Edge Computing

As the use of AI and edge computing expands, high processing performance is increasingly required for industrial equipment and information terminals themselves. However, designing and verifying boards using high-performance SoCs (System-on-Chips) *2 in-house places a significant burden in terms of specialized personnel, development time, and cost. To address these challenges, the adoption of SOMs is progressing, attracting attention as a core solution that simultaneously achieves development efficiency, flexibility, and risk reduction.

Fujisoft's Expertise Meets MediaTek's Latest Chip-Equipped SOMs

AMobile has the strength of obtaining early access to MediaTek's latest chip information and rapidly deploying it into products. InnoComm designs and manufactures genuine evaluation boards for MediaTek SoCs and is known for its high technical capabilities and quality. Fujisoft has been handling SOM product sales since 2021 and leverages its knowledge and experience in implementation to provide a secure environment for companies that may have concerns about adopting overseas products. With these new distribution agreements, Fujisoft will sell SOMs from both companies, as well as Single Board Computers (SBCs) *3 and compact BOX PCs in Japan.

Beyond Just Sales - Partnering as a System Integrator Through to Productization

Fujisoft will expand its SOM sales business with the SOM products from both companies at its core. In addition to selling their products, Fujisoft will act as a system integrator, handling everything from requirements definition, SOM selection, software development, to mass production and maintenance, thereby contributing to the efficiency of customers' AI and edge product development. Furthermore, by leveraging its strengths in embedded systems, AI, and cloud integration, Fujisoft will promote the provision of high-value-added solutions.
