Statement from CEO and Representative Director, Mr. Jun Koyama
Typically, from February to early March, heavy snowfall makes it difficult for clubs from snowy regions to host home games. We are deeply grateful to Kawasaki Frontale, our partner club, for their understanding and support in making this event possible. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to all stakeholders, including the J.League, who have contributed to realizing this match.
Fukushima marks the 15th anniversary since the Great East Japan Earthquake and nuclear accident. Thanks to extensive support from both domestic and international communities, we have steadily advanced in recovery. By hosting this home game at the same stadium, we aim to showcase Fukushima’s ongoing journey of resilience and innovation—our vision for Japan’s first full-scale wooden stadium, regional future-building, and our enduring challenge alongside player Kazuyoshi Miura, who is celebrating his 60th birthday. We hope to express our gratitude for all past support to people across Japan and around the world.
Mr. Miura is undoubtedly a pivotal figure in the advancement of Japanese football. His unwavering spirit of challenge at any age resonates deeply with Fukushima’s own journey—facing adversity with determination and moving from recovery to creation. The 60th birthday symbolizes rebirth. Fukushima United FC will treat this match as a new beginning, stepping forward into the future of Fukushima together with Kazuyoshi Miura.
