Fuji TV has announced that its video streaming service FOD will live-stream the '2026 Japan Men's National Volleyball International Friendly Matches,' where Japan's men's national volleyball team will face powerhouse teams Canada and Brazil. The matches will also be broadcast on Fuji TV ONE.
Japan's men's national volleyball team, known for its global presence, will take on top-tier international rivals Canada and Brazil in these friendly matches. Featuring experienced players such as Yuki Ishikawa, Aoi Takahashi, and Yushi Nishida—veterans of overseas leagues and international competitions—these matches will showcase Japan's pursuit of excellence on the world stage.
In the July Okinawa tournament, world-ranked 7th Japan will face 10th-ranked Canada. This clash between top-10 teams goes beyond mere preparation—it serves as a crucial benchmark to measure Japan's standing against the world's elite.
Particular attention will be on Yuki Ishikawa, who achieved a Scudetto in Italy's Serie A and has proven himself in the world's most competitive league. His stability in both offense and defense, along with his leadership as captain, will be vital in guiding the team. Expectations are also high for Aoi Takahashi's all-around performance and Yushi Nishida's scoring prowess, powered by his overwhelming strength. A key highlight will be how these individually polished skills coalesce into Japan's overall team strength.
Canada, on the other hand, is a formidable opponent known for its powerful serves and height-based blocking. The match will test whether Japan can counter Canada's physical dominance with its signature speed, coordination, and tenacious defense.
Additionally, in the August Tokyo tournament, Japan is scheduled to face Brazil, currently ranked 3rd in the world. How Japan performs against such a top-tier opponent will be equally compelling.
Don't miss the intense battles of Japan's men's national volleyball team against world powerhouses—exclusively on FOD and Fuji TV ONE.
*World rankings are as of May 1, 2026.
