Art and Cocktails Collide in a Stimulating Week: "Canvas & Cocktails" Event Held

At two bars within Grand Hyatt Fukuoka (1-2-82 Sumiyoshi, Hakata-ku), a collaborative event "Canvas & Cocktails" with artist KOGAKEN, active in Fukuoka, will be held from August 17 (Mon) to August 23 (Sun), 2026. During the event, KOGAKEN's artworks will be exhibited at the first-floor bar "Martini's." Vibrant colors and dynamic works will adorn the bar space, which can be enjoyed alongside limited-time original cocktails and food menus. Furthermore, a live painting performance by the artist himself and a workshop for children, where they can experience art creation and cocktail making, will be held. We offer a special experience to engage with art and cocktail culture in a high-quality space unique to a hotel. KOGAKEN is a Fukuoka-based artist characterized by vivid colors and dynamic expressions. He paints figures and cityscapes from his unique perspective, layering acrylic paints with a painting knife. He received the New Artist Award at the "Vibrant Contemporary Artists Exhibition 2018" held at the Fukuoka Asian Art Museum and has been active in a wide range of activities in recent years, including exhibitions and art fairs both domestically and internationally, live painting, and mural production.

Live Painting Performance

Live painting by KOGAKEN will be held for two days, August 21 (Fri) and 22 (Sat). On the first day, you can see him paint a canvas with abstract expressions, and on the second day, motifs will gradually emerge from the work. This is a valuable opportunity to witness the creation process up close, which cannot be experienced by just seeing the finished product. Please enjoy the immersive performance with cocktails and wine.

Workshop for Children to Experience Art Creation and Cocktail Making

This is a workshop for children where, after experiencing making non-alcoholic cocktails with a lecture from a hotel bartender, they can participate in a painting class by KOGAKEN. Through two creative experiences, cocktail making and art creation, children can touch upon free thinking and the joy of expression. Artist Profile

KOGAKEN Profile

Resides in Fukuoka Prefecture. After gaining experience as a graphic designer, he began his full-time career as an artist in 2018. He creates works in a unique style that expresses light and shadow through texture and color by layering acrylic paints. In 2018, he received the New Artist Award at the "Vibrant Contemporary Artists Exhibition 2018" held at the Fukuoka Asian Art Museum. He focuses on live painting and solo exhibitions, and in recent years has expanded his activities both domestically and internationally, including exhibitions at GINZA SIX and participation in the "ULSAN INTERNATIONAL ART FAIR" held in South Korea.
