Jumonji Junior and Senior High School will hold a special inquiry program, "Finding Your Core Through the Study of Meals," as part of its Self-Expression Course's "Period for Integrated Inquiry (J-Lab.)," featuring culinary researcher and Jumonji Gakuen Women's University Vice President, Mr. Yoshiharu Doi, as a lecturer.
While active as a culinary researcher, Mr. Doi has also been continuously involved in educational programs for junior and senior high school students at the University of Tokyo's Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology (RCAST) "LEARN Individualized Learning Research Lab." He has researched learning methods that encourage students to think with their own senses, using "food," "life," and "family" as entry points.
In this special program, the learning will be inquiry-based, fostering students' own values and judgment (Core) by re-examining "eating" and "living," rather than simply learning cooking as a technical skill.

2. Target Audience High School Self-Expression Course 1st and 2nd-year high school students (conducted during the Period for Integrated Inquiry class)

4. Program Overview This is an inquiry-based learning program that poses questions about "how to live" to high school students, using the everyday subject of "food."
This class treats cooking not as a technical skill but as an opportunity to re-examine "eating" and "living." Through familiar experiences and observations related to food—the relationship with nature, physical sensations, daily life, and interactions with others—students will feel, judge, and verbalize their thoughts for themselves. The aim is to help them cultivate their own judgment (Core) on questions like "How do I want to live?" and "What values will guide my choices?"
