The 'IndyCar Series,' the pinnacle of North American formula car racing, reaches its climax this weekend. The '110th Indy 500,' recognized as one of the world's three major races, will take place at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Indiana, USA.
The final race, featuring Japan’s Takuma Sato, will be broadcast live starting May 24th (Sun) at 23:00 on CS channel GAORA SPORTS and streamed on GAORA On-Demand.
Known as the “Month of May,” this time of year draws global attention to the Indy 500, which is celebrating its 110th edition. Last year's final attracted approximately 350,000 spectators. Takuma Sato, competing in his 17th Indy 500, will represent Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing (RLL) again, aiming for his third victory after his 2017 and 2020 triumphs, guided by his mantra, "No Attack, No Chance."
During qualifying sessions held in high temperatures, track temperatures, and strong winds, Sato faced challenges. Following technical violations by other cars, his starting position has been adjusted to 12th place.
This year's pole position went to last year's winner and reigning champion, Alex Palou.
In addition to the final race, GAORA SPORTS will also air the final practice session, "Carb Day," and the "Pit Stop Challenge" on Friday the 22nd.
