The Japan Glass Bottle Association (Chairman Hisatsugu Ishizuka/Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo) held the "22nd Glass Bottle Award 2026" in Tokyo and announced the 8 winning products, including the Grand Prize winner.
["HATA PREMIUM" by Hata Kosen Co., Ltd. Wins Grand Prize]
The first and final screenings were conducted by jury chairman Lily Franky, and judges Miki Tominaga and Rina Mirai. The winning products were selected from a total of 161 entries (212 bottles).
The Grand Prize was awarded to "HATA PREMIUM" by Hata Kosen Co., Ltd.
It was praised for the following: "It was particularly delightful to see the revival of the nostalgic all-glass ramune bottle with a glass mouthpiece. For those who feel nostalgia and those who experience it as new, it brought back memories of childhood, realizing that glass items were treasures. The practical aspect of being able to drink it more deliciously with a cool sensation, similar to the temperature of the bottle in hand, was also highly evaluated. The product was recognized for its sustainability, as a traditional Japanese beverage has been revived as a modern gastronomy drink."
[Glass bottles where nostalgia and novelty coexist]
This year's entries saw many products with the stability and security characteristic of glass bottles, while also featuring eye-catching bottles with unprecedented colors and unique shapes.
While having their own individuality, they also effectively enhance the appeal of their contents. This allows glass bottles to express a wide range of emotions, being both gentle and challenging, nostalgic and new, as a versatile container with profound depth.
The possibilities of glass bottles continue to expand.
