GANYMEDE Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Daisuke Nishihara), in cooperation with Blizzard Entertainment, held the official international Overwatch tournament 'Overwatch Champions Clash hosted by GANYMEDE' (OWCC) at Arena Tachikawa Tachihi (Tachikawa, Tokyo) from May 22 (Fri) to May 24 (Sun), 2026.
This marked the first time in the history of official Overwatch international tournaments that a partner team operator, deeply rooted in the local community, served as the host. The inaugural event in Japan attracted many fans from both domestic and international locations, with a total of 6,000 attendees over the three days, creating an electric atmosphere throughout.
Beyond the high-stakes matches on the main stage, the event featured various activities for fans, blending the intensity of esports with a strong sense of community. The tournament was born from Blizzard Entertainment's vision to have community-rooted partners host events to better connect with fan passion. Japan was selected for this debut due to its highly mature and enthusiastic fan base.
The venue included 'MEET & GREET' sessions, merchandise booths featuring exclusive items, and interactive sponsor booths from companies like Red Bull and Good Smile Company.
The tournament saw intense competition from the opening day on May 22 to the Grand Finals on May 24. In the final showdown, Crazy Raccoon, who remained undefeated in the Upper Round, faced off against Twisted Minds, who fought their way up from the Lower Round. After a full-set battle, Crazy Raccoon secured a 4-3 victory, becoming the champion of the historic first Japanese event.
GANYMEDE Inc. stated that it will continue to contribute to the development of the gaming community and the creation of new culture through esports.
