GoodBeer&Friends Inc. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Yuki Kanamori), which aims to create a world where breweries, restaurants, and consumers are organically connected through craft beer, is pleased to announce the development and launch of "Katsushika Nombe Craft - Katsushika Ginger Pale Ale." This product is part of the "Katsushika Nombe Craft Project," promoted in partnership with Taiyo Ohno, owner of the Shin-Koiwa, Katsushika-ku izakaya "Torisakaba Haikara."

About Katsushika Nombe Craft - Katsushika Ginger Pale Ale

On April 16, 2026, the third product in the Katsushika Nombe Craft series, "Katsushika Nombe Craft - Katsushika Ginger Pale Ale" (hereinafter "Ginger Pale Ale"), will go on sale.

### Characteristics of Katsushika Nombe Craft - Katsushika Ginger Pale Ale

The defining characteristic of the Katsushika Ginger Pale Ale is its dry, highly complex flavor profile featuring ginger. By using a pale ale base, the sharp, crisp taste of the ginger is accentuated. When consumed on its own, the appeal lies in the ability to directly experience this complexity. It pairs well with foods such as fried dishes, enhancing the umami of the meal.

While utilizing a pale ale—often considered the gateway for craft beer fans—this brew offers a wide range of flavors, providing a new beverage experience. We invite you to give it a try.

### Purchasing Katsushika Nombe Craft - Katsushika Ginger Pale Ale

Katsushika Ginger Pale Ale is available at the "Katsushika Nombe Hashigo Yokocho" (Katsushika Drinker's Pub Crawl) event, which tours various restaurants in Shin-Koiwa. You can purchase tickets to participate in the event via our e-commerce site. While those without tickets can still enjoy the beer at participating restaurants, using a ticket allows you to enjoy it at a better value than the standard price.

The Story Behind the Development of Katsushika Nombe Craft - Katsushika Ginger Pale Ale

Katsushika Ginger Pale Ale was developed as the third installment of the "Katsushika Nombe Craft Project." Previously, we released "Katsushika Lemon Weizen," which is crisp and easy to drink like a chuhai, and "Katsushika Cola Porter," designed for those who are not fond of dark beers.

As the final product in this lineup, the Katsushika Ginger Pale Ale is more complex than the previous two and is geared toward more experienced palates. Furthermore, while "beer and ginger" might bring to mind a Shandy Gaff, we have set the alcohol content at 9%—a high-alcohol level—which is the opposite of a Shandy Gaff, which typically lowers the alcohol content of beer.

While this project is driven by the desire for those who don't usually drink beer to enjoy it, it also carries the concept of bringing back "Nombe" (drinker) culture to Katsushika in a new form. That is precisely why, in an era where low-alcohol drinks are trending, we dared to develop a high-alcohol product that true drinkers would appreciate.

What is the Katsushika Nombe Craft Project?

### Passion for the Project

In the past, Katsushika was home to many "Nombe" (drinkers). It possessed a vibrant atmosphere that seemed to carry the spirit of Edo's chic culture into the modern day. However, due to redevelopment and the decline of shopping districts, the character of the town is fading.

Revisiting a culture that had almost vanished and reconstructing it in a way that fits the modern era—that is the vision of Taiyo Ohno, who runs the izakaya "Torisakaba Haikara" in Shin-Koiwa, Katsushika-ku. He set out to create a craft beer that expresses the essence of the old Katsushika and bring back the "Nombe" culture to this town.

Through this project, we aim to have residents and visitors to Katsushika enjoy craft beer at the many restaurants in the area. We also plan to open stalls at local festivals and events and engage in media outreach. We are currently in the midst of a challenge to reconstruct the town's identity, sharing the story of Katsushika and its drinkers so that people will think, "Katsushika? That's the place for drinkers."

**■ Collaboration with the Region**

Katsushika is home to many attractive assets, such as famous films and characters. By collaborating with these, we create opportunities for more people to learn about Katsushika.

**■ Establishment of a Brewery**

Because this is a project centered on drinkers, we want to brew the core product—the alcohol—within the town. Furthermore, by creating jobs, we will realize the project's vision of making it a "town where people and money circulate."

**■ Expansion Beyond Shin-Koiwa**

While we are currently focusing on Shin-Koiwa, we will gradually expand this project throughout all of Katsushika. By connecting the dots and gradually forming a larger circle, we hope to eventually revitalize all of Katsushika.
