Tokyo Banana to Launch Summer-Exclusive 'Momomaru' Calico Cat Product with White Peach Banana Flavor, Available Nationwide Online

Celebrating its 35th anniversary since its debut in 1991, 'Tokyo Banana' has sold over 2 billion units (period: Nov 22, 1991 - Apr 30, 2025). In 2025, it was ranked as the world's number one banana custard sponge cake brand by retail sales, according to a custom research by Euromonitor International. The brand has released over 187 product variations to date.

New Character: Calico Cat 'Momomaru' The new character, 'Momomaru,' belongs to the popular animal series and is introduced as the younger brother of the particularly popular black cat character, 'Bunyanko.' A key feature is the peach mark on its belly.

Product Features The fluffy sponge cake, baked with a calico cat pattern, is filled with a white peach banana custard cream. The flavor profile combines juicy white peach with banana, creating a balance of freshness and richness. The company recommends enjoying it chilled during the summer. There are six different cake designs, featuring various expressions such as a 'beckoning cat' pose and a smiling face. A rare design with the peach mark turned into a heart is also included. The designs are packed randomly, and not all six may be present in a single box.
