Hacosta Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Osaka; Representative Director: Yoshihiro Matsumura), an Animate Group company operating cosplay events across Japan, will host the first "acosta!" event in Seoul, South Korea, on Saturday, June 27 and Sunday, June 28, marking its second international expansion destination. The venue is the Cheongnyangni area, a key transportation hub in northeastern Seoul currently attracting attention for redevelopment. The event will span a vast area, ranging from the latest shopping facility "ArtForest" to the atmospheric "Cheongnyangni Traditional Market."
The Asian expansion of acosta!, which launched in 2025, has drawn a total of over 40,000 participants across Taiwan (Taipei and Kaohsiung). The Japanese-style shooting format that utilizes streets and facilities directly as backgrounds, combined with acosta!'s safe and secure operations, has gained deep support from cosplay fans across borders.
South Korea, the venue for this first event, is an area with exceptionally high passion and quality for cosplay within Asia. By combining South Korea's cosplay culture with acosta!'s unique street-walking and festive atmosphere, the event aims to co-create an environment where local cosplayers can express themselves more freely and actively.
Using the large shopping facility "ArtForest" as the venue, participants can take photos and socialize in the plaza, as well as shop and rest while remaining in cosplay. Additionally, participants can enjoy photography against the backdrop of vibrant local life at the Cheongnyangni Traditional Market and lush greenery at the Cheongnyangni Station Park.
Many cosplayers from Japan are expected to participate. On Saturday, June 27, popular cosplayer Moe Iori is confirmed to exhibit at the event.
