HALMEK up, a web media outlet, and the Ikikata Jozu Research Institute conducted a web survey of 418 women aged 40-65 about their hair concerns during the rainy season. The results showed that 91.6% of middle-aged women experience hair problems, with the most common complaint being "unruliness/frizz" (46.4%), followed by "visible gray hair" and "hair spreading out/losing shape." The study also revealed that with age, hair tends to become finer, thinner, and softer, leading to a shift towards shorter hairstyles. Notably, 73.0% of women aged 40-54 reported that their hair's condition affects their motivation to go outside, highlighting a significant psychological impact. Common coping strategies include using hair oils/styling products and tying hair up.
