Tokyo Infiorata 2026 Final Chapter: Odaiba Infiorata with Floral Festa to be Held!

The "Tokyo Infiorata 2026," organized by the Japan Infiorata Association and held since March 2026 at four venues in Tokyo (Keio Seiseki Sakuragaoka Shopping Center, Ochanomizu Sola City, Gyoko-dori, and MUFG Stadium), will conclude with its final chapter, "Odaiba Infiorata with Floral Festa."

This event, co-hosted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Bureau of Port and Harbor and the Japan Infiorata Association, will take place at the Symbol Promenade Park West Park Bridge over two sessions: May 9-11 and May 16-18. As part of the "Floral Festa," with the world's largest fountain "Tokyo Aqua Symphony" as a backdrop, the 1st Session will feature a massive 110㎡ Japanese pattern flower carpet, and the 2nd Session will showcase four "Hana Kabuki" works inspired by Utagawa Kunisada's ukiyo-e. These will be created with approximately 100 citizen participants who were recruited in advance. A total of about 47,000 carnations will be used. Furthermore, on the last day of the 1st Session, a Bugaku performance by Shiro Gen, the founder and headmaster of Bugaku, will be held on the completed flower carpet, creating a special time where Japanese culture resonates. The overall supervision is by Yasuhiko Fujikawa, an infiorata artist.

Three Highlights

① 1st Session "Japanese Patterns" | A 110㎡ Giant Japanese Pattern Flower Carpet Created by 100 People

In the 1st Session, approximately 100 citizen participants will create a magnificent 4.5m x 24.5m (approx. 110㎡) Japanese pattern flower carpet. Approximately 27,000 carnations and colored sand will be used. The process itself, where participants lay out petals one by one and colorful Japanese designs gradually emerge, is a unique charm of this event. After completion, a splendid flower carpet integrated with the Odaiba scenery will spread out.

② 2nd Session "Hana Kabuki" | The Beauty of Edo and the Splendor of Kabuki Revived with Petals

In the 2nd Session, four works measuring 4.5m x 6.5m (approx. 30㎡) will be created with 100 citizen participants, inspired by the "Imayo Oshie Kagami" series by Utagawa Kunisada, a popular ukiyo-e artist from the Edo period. The chic and vibrant world depicting Kabuki actors reflected in mirrors will be expressed with approximately 20,000 carnations and colored sand. The fusion of ukiyo-e and flower art will revive the aesthetic sense of Edo culture in modern Odaiba.

③ A Special Odaiba-Only Experience Where Flowers, Water, and Dance Resonate: "Odaiba Hana Bugaku"

On the last day of the 1st Session, a Bugaku performance "Odaiba Hana Bugaku" by Shiro Gen, the founder and headmaster of Bugaku, will be held on the stage of the completed flower carpet artwork. Bugaku is a powerful and beautiful stage art that fuses Japanese martial arts and traditional performing arts. This special performance unfolding on the flower carpet will envelop the entire venue with an overwhelming sense of presence. Furthermore, in the background is the world's largest fountain, "Tokyo Aqua Symphony." This is an emotional experience where flowers, water, and dance resonate, which can only be enjoyed in this location.
